Carpentry Services in Orlando, FL
Carpentry Services
Trim that has pulled apart at the joints. A door that no longer sits square in its frame. A closet with one warped shelf and nowhere sensible to put anything. Carpentry is the part of a room people notice without being able to say why: when it is right it disappears, and when it is wrong it is the only thing they see.
CraftWise Handyman handles practical carpentry for homes and businesses in Orlando, Windermere and across Central Florida. That means trim and baseboards, door and window casing, shelving and storage, interior wood features, and the repair or replacement of wood components that have been damaged or worn out.
We work within a handyman and remodeling scope, and we are clear about where that scope ends. Load-bearing changes, roof framing and permit-dependent structural work belong with a licensed structural professional, and we will tell you when a project falls into that category rather than taking it on. For general repairs, see our home repair services; for wider projects, our handyman services cover installations and improvements throughout the home.
What We Build and Repair
Interior Carpentry

Trim and Baseboards
Installation and replacement of baseboard, shoe molding, chair rail and crown where the room suits it. Runs are measured and mitered to the walls as they actually are, then filled and caulked so the corners stay closed instead of opening up a few months later.

Door and Window Casing
Casing, jambs, stops and thresholds. When a door has stopped closing cleanly we look at the fit before the finish, because trim on its own will not fix a door that is out of alignment with its frame.

Shelving and Storage
Closet systems, pantry shelving, garage storage and open shelving in living spaces. Built to the wall it is going on, anchored into something solid, and sized around what you actually intend to put on it.

Interior Wood Features
Wainscoting, panel detail, window seats, mantels and similar built-in work. These are planned around the real dimensions of the room, since very little in a finished house is perfectly square or perfectly level.

Wood Repair and Replacement
Split casing, damaged baseboard, worn stair components, loose handrails and deteriorated trim. Where a piece can be repaired we repair it. Where it cannot, we replace it with the closest profile available and blend it into the surrounding work.

Blocking and Minor Framing
Backing and blocking for shelving, cabinets, grab bars, mounts and fixtures, plus small non-structural framing repairs. Load-bearing alterations, roof framing and structural work are outside our scope.
Wood Repair and Improvements
A lot of carpentry starts as a repair and turns into an improvement. Baseboards come off for a flooring change and it makes sense to update the profile while they are down. Damaged casing around one door draws attention to the other four. An awkward wall that has never worked becomes the obvious place for built-in shelving.
Florida conditions bring their own wear. Humidity moves wood, and door bottoms, thresholds and trim near exterior openings tend to show it first. Where damage has been caused by an ongoing moisture problem, the source needs to be corrected before new wood goes in; replacing trim over an unresolved leak only buys time. If the work is part of a larger project, our remodeling services cover the wider scope, and walls opened up around new or removed woodwork are handled by our drywall repair work.
Carpentry for Residential and Commercial Properties
For homeowners, carpentry is usually about finish quality. Rooms that feel complete, trim that lines up, storage that fits the space rather than the other way around. We work room by room and treat the finished result as the thing being delivered.
For landlords, property managers and smaller commercial spaces, carpentry is more often about condition and turnaround: damaged trim between tenants, doors that have stopped working properly, worn wood in shared areas, and backing for shelving or fixtures in offices and retail units. Work in occupied or operating spaces is scheduled in advance and kept contained to the area in use. Wider business work is covered on our commercial handyman services page.
Our Carpentry Process
Assessment. We look at the space and measure it, then check the conditions that will affect the work: how square the walls and openings are, what is behind the surface, and how new work has to meet what is already there.
Scope. You get a clear description of what is included, what materials are involved, and what is not part of the job.
Materials and planning. Profiles, species and finishes are agreed before anything is ordered. If an existing profile is no longer available, we say so and show you what the nearest match will look like against the original.
Execution. Work follows a set sequence of fitting, fastening, filling and sanding, with adjacent surfaces and floors protected while it happens.
Cleanup. Offcuts, sawdust and packaging leave with us.
Why Choose CraftWise
Honest scope. We are direct about the carpentry we do and about the work that belongs with a licensed specialty contractor or a structural professional.
Planned projects. Measurements, materials and sequence are settled before the first cut, which is what keeps a carpentry job from turning into a series of return visits.
Work that connects. Carpentry almost always touches drywall, paint preparation and hardware. Because we handle those too, you are not left coordinating three trades around one room.
Central Florida focus. We work across Orlando and the surrounding communities from Windermere, so scheduling and follow-up stay local.
